How to get to Budva in Montenegro ?

The two international airports in Montenegro – Podgorica and Tivat – meet basic aviation requirements and have reserve runway and landing strip capacity.

From a tourism point of view, though, there are considerable shortcomings at the terminals. They are in need of basic modernization and extension to cope with demand.

Pržno is situated 31 km from the railway station in Bar. Railway line Belgrade – Bar via Valjevo, Užice and Podgorica.

Arriving to Budva by Airplanes
Air traffic through international airlines.

Two international airports are very close to Ulcinj. Tivat Airport (40 km away) and Podgorica Airport (80 km away) and Ćilipi Airport near Dubrovnik in Croatia (120 km away), might be utilized as well and connecting Ulcinj with domestic and international tourist destinations.

In certain occasions, the Airport Tirana in Albania is usefull for international flight from US, China, Spain, Germany and UK. Border crossing from and to Albania is professional and fast.

You can also get to Montenegro to Bar or Dubrovnik by ferryboats from Bari (Italy) or from Rijeka and Split (Croatia’s biggest ports at the Adria).

During summer time several agencies in Dubrovnik offering transfers by boat to the Montenegro via Herceg Novi. The prices are between 15.00 to 60 Euros depending on boat size and services.

The Ferries Jadrolinija is connecting Rijeka, Split, Dubrovnik and many other places in between, and offer an excellent opportunity to enjoy a beautiful trip and having a unforgetable view to thousands of small islands.

There are frequent buses from the main capital city Podgorica that should cost under 5.00 €.
From Bar almost every 30 minutes a bus or ‘combi’ bus runs up and down the complete coast of Budva Riviera the price is 2 – 3 €.

From Kosovo during the summer and tourist season there are frequent buses leaving from the major cities like Priztina. The price is around 20 €.

From Albania there are some small private organized buses that go from Durres in Albania and the Abanian border direct to Ulcinj. It takes almost 20 Minutes from the abanian border to Ulcinj and choosing a connect bux to Budva via Petrovac.
